The year commenced with uncertainty looming in the air. Covid-19 robbed us of so much normalcy. From loss of jobs, change in daily routines, flight suspensions, and the nationwide curfew that was put in effect on 27th March 2020. Almost a year on, how do we adapt? Our main value as a company is Ubuntu – I am, Because You Are, Because We Are. The spirit of Ubuntu is our way of life, and this year, it was put to the test.

The pandemic meant moving our daily office routines to our homes. Scheduling zoom meetings, having brainstorms and creating brand strategies from the comfort of our homes; an experience we never saw coming! But we embraced it, worked as a team, thought of innovative ways to communicate on our brands’ behalf and we delivered, exponentially.

This year, we took home a total of 5 awards. We faced the change head-on, adapted and worked hard to deliver the best for both our clients and ourselves. One of our main 2021 highlights was a three-month nationwide marketing campaign that we ran for Kitui Flour Mills called, “Vuna Mamili Na Kitui Flour Mills”- The 1st and largest national consumer promotion I the flour category in Kenya. A campaign geared towards spreading hope to Millions of Kenyans during a tough period by giving them an equal opportunity to become millionaires and win other amazing prizes. With this campaign, we managed to close the year with a bang, winning the Best Marketing Realignment through Covid (March 2021 – October 2021) award at the Marketing Society of Kenya Annual Gala Awards 2021.

From dealing with a global pandemic, working from home, challenging our creativity to winning awards. It’s been a whirlwind of a year, but we made it! We made it through a day at a time, having fun in between, doing what we love to the best of our abilities, delivering to our clients and staying true to our values. We are grateful to our clients for sticking with us and your continued support and to the Dragonfly team for staying in control and getting things done.
