“CREATIVITY REQUIRES THE COURAGE TO LET GO OF CERTAINTY” – MSK AWARDS 2021
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, many lives have changed drastically. Industries were forced to adapt fast while keeping up with the consumer needs under uncertain situations. The digital marketing scene continues to evolve and brands are understanding how they must adjust their business strategies. Erich Fromm once said that, “Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainty”. In order to be completely creative, and think of something new and different, you often need to let go of what is safe and certain.
In March 2020, the first Covid-19 case was confirmed in Kenya. The effects of this pandemic brought a lot of destruction to both businesses and individuals globally. As their marketing agency, we had to get innovative and assist in keeping a strong customer-business relationship. We ran one of the biggest marketing campaigns in April 2020 under the name “Vuna Mamili Na Kitui Flour Mills”, pioneering the largest National consumer promotion. The economic and social disruptions induced by the pandemic meant that it was vital for businesses to find effective ways to give back to their loyal consumers.
The MSK Awards is a recognition of real excellence in marketing and aims to celebrate work that’s born in companies with cultures where innovation and creativity thrive to grow business. The 2021 MSK Awards Gala took place on Friday 3rd December with the theme; “THIS YEAR THE CHEESE MOVED. DID YOU MOVE WITH IT?” Dragonfly Ltd proudly took home an MSK Award under the, “Best Marketing Realignment through Covid (March 2021-October 2021) category and was the 2nd Runner Up under the “Best Integrated Marketing Communication” category. We take pride in giving our clients the best services and experiences through innovative, inspiring, and honest work. And indeed, this year, Dragonfly moved with the cheese!
